Good evening,  Please see the below notes from our September meeting.

 

9/12/23 AVHS Baseball Booster Club Meeting

 

Guest Speaker: Cory Hanson - AVHS Athletic Director

*Pathway from Arena Parking along the leftfield/Third Base fencing. Gravel path/retaining wall.

*Mezzanine seating possibility

-Field is non-ADA compliant. 

-Possibly seating with ramps behind Homeplate area.

-School Board Meeting (voice concerns about seating) about Mark Stotts

-Fencing needs to be updated/replaced.

 

 

 

 

*Plan to attend school board meeting possibly in November. Mark Stotts from District 196 will be invited to the October Booster Club meeting to discuss.

 

*Alternative Scheduling

-Discussed with Head Coach and voted on with SSC schools

-2 season minimum (1 round through SSC)

*School Enrollment Number as per MSHSL includes Free/Reduced Lunch Eligible.

*Applied for all sports to drop a class, only Softball & Dance accepted.

*Multi-sport athletes are encouraged amongst coaches in athletics.

 

 

Uniforms

*Order new set(s) and pass down old to JV/Frosh

*Retire old Vegas Gold Uniforms

*Baseballs ordered

*Hats have not been ordered

 

Off-Season workouts

*Weight room rot mandatory

*Once a week

*Captains – rising cost to use Mash Facility

*Pitching Program

-Exploring option of instructor joining the staff in the spring

-Making it available to more kids

*Hitting – on until weather changes

*Tees/front flips/machine live

*Booster Fees - $150

Cash Raffle $20 Main Fundraiser (extra tickets sold goes toward your spring trip)

*Mouth Trap – funds earned can go toward Florida Trip

*New possibly $500 - $750 package deals

 

Strikeout Cancer - In need of volunteers!

*Sat, May 11 vs. Two Rivers 2pm Varsity (Mother’s Day Weekend)

*VAA Day in conjunction

*Banner earned from Randy Shaver Tackle/Strikeout Cancer Foundation

 

 

Spring Trip: Depart3/24/24 or 3/25/24 return 3/30/24 or 3/31/24 – Estimated Cost (28 player budgeted):

*Improved on-field experience

-More practice time and player development

*Volunteer Needs!!

*Food Coordinator (need to replace K. Gores)

*Activities (organizer)

 

Signup - DUE 9/30 along with $200 Deposit

*Option #1 With flight (Sun Country) to TPA $1950/player

 

*Option #2 No Flight $1500/player

-Family responsibility for transportation to get player to hotel/facility.

 

Rough Estimates:

  -$480 Air

-$1150 - Lodging, Baseball City, 2 meals per day

-$165 - Vans, Gas, etc.

-$90 - Food (non-baseball city)

-$50 - T-shirt Jerseys
